Designing an HR platform for the company that innovates the future
About: This project involved designing a performance review and calibration platform to streamline employee evaluations, goal tracking, and feedback processes. With role-specific access and a matrix-based calibration system, the platform aimed to enhance organizational efficiency and employee development.
Challenge: The client approached us with an alpha version of the platform that lacked cohesive design and usability. Our challenge was to refine and expand upon the existing work while addressing the complexity of role-based access, hierarchical workflows, and feature scalability.
Approach: We began by familiarizing ourselves with the existing designs and development work. Through iterative collaboration with stakeholders, we structured the platform around distinct user roles, streamlined workflows, and implemented an intuitive calibration matrix to ensure seamless navigation and decision-making.
Features
Employee & Objective Tracking
We built intuitive dashboards for tracking employee objectives, project statuses, and review progress, accessible based on user roles.
Object and Project Reviews
This functionality serves as a cornerstone of the platform, enabling employees and managers to review and evaluate personal objectives with a focus on skill development and long-term growth. In addition, a complementary feature addresses project reviews, offering a more specific workflow tied to deliverables. This allows employees to assess their contributions and outcomes collaboratively, keeping teams aligned while enabling managers to gain a holistic view of processes and identify areas for improvement.
Pulse check
To enhance manager workflows and create a centralized hub for performance and collaboration, we integrated a one-to-one meeting feature. This functionality allows users to schedule meetings, set discussion points, and define meeting locations, aligning with the platform’s vision of becoming the go-to solution for opportunity reviews, objectives, and project management.
Calibrator Section
An interactive calibration matrix was designed to visualize employee performance and growth, categorizing individuals into actionable cells like "High Performer" and "Engage and Stimulate."
Department & Project Management
This functionality enabled functionality for creating, editing, and assigning users to projects and departments, ensuring seamless organizational structure.
Notifications & Reminders
Designed a system to send meaningful, timely alerts for tasks like adding objectives, starting reviews, responding to comments, and approving project creations.
